Dangerous Lullabies is an annual group fine art exhibition showcased in Crystal Lake's historic Dole Mansion.
Artists are invited to submit work that explores the curious allure of things that frighten us. If you have work that is designed to examine the beauty found in the ashes of terror or the magnetic pull of work that is disturbing, on-edge or dark, this is the show for you. All mediums will be accepted for consideration through the final deadline.
Joe + Kathleen Isacson are the curators for this exhibition, working in partnership with the Lakeside Legacy Foundation.
This show is open to all artists in the US.
All artwork must be original, and totally conceived and created by the artist. Artists are responsible for knowing and adhering to existing copyright laws. (Please submit only original pieces for inclusion in the show, not reproductions of work, unless it is a medium such as photography, digital or other work in which the original form is reproductive in nature.)
Artists who ship work to the gallery for the show will need to cover the cost of shipping work to the gallery, return shipping and any insurance for the packages. Further directions will be provided upon acceptance. Please note in your submission if you are shipping work.
Any artwork that is damaged during shipping or not ready to hang per specifications below will not be included in the show. Work that arrives without a return shipping label/paid postage will not be returned. Work that arrives late is not guaranteed inclusion in the show. Shipments will be accepted by the LLAP during office hours of the last week of September.
Artist Entry Form:
Submissions should be made by August 12, 2019. Early bird fee ends 5/31.
Jury fees contribute to the operation of the exhibition and therefore are non-refundable.
Submissions without a jury fee will be considered incomplete.
Notifications will be made by 8/19. Please be patient! Follow us on FB for updates.
2D work: All art must be presented to exhibit in a frame* and wired on the back. (Wire must be wide enough to hang on a 3" hanging structure, due to the hanging system in the space.).
*If you have a mixed media piece or painting that is designed to exhibit without a frame, that is fine, but it will need to be finished/complete in some fashion on all sides that are visible to the public.
3D work: Lakeside Legacy has a limited number of pedestals for use. If you require a pedestal for your work, please request one with your submission, noting any size requirements.
If any accepted pieces are dramatically different in person from the submitted image, are in poor condition or are not framed properly, they may be removed from the exhibition.
The Lakeside Legacy will handle sales. Commission is 30% and goes to the arts center for operational costs.
