1. A strong desire to learn or know something. 2. An unusual object or fact.

Curiosity is a 5 week national fine art exhibition focused on exploration of the unusual, and the human need to discover.

Concept: Art can be a journey of exploration into the unfamiliar, or unknown, and has the power to introduce us to the new and unusual.

Artists are encouraged to submit work that explores their own personal curiosities about themselves and the world or artwork that is, itself, an unusual curiosity. All mediums are welcomed for submission.

As an artist, what intrigues you? Or is your artwork is a journal for your new experiences and obsessions?
Show us how you have explored new experiences or ideas through your artwork.

The exhibit will be in the Old Courthouse Arts Center, located on Woodstock's historic square, NW of Chicago. You may recognize the square from the film Groundhog Day

J + K Isacson are curators for this exhibition, working in partnership with the Old Court House Arts Center.

This show is open to all artists in the US. Selected functional fine artisan pieces will be included.

All artwork must be original, and totally conceived and created by the artist.

Artists who ship work to the gallery for the show will need to cover the cost of shipping work to the gallery, return shipping and any insurance for the packages. Further directions will be provided upon acceptance. Please note in your submission if you are shipping work.

Jury fees are non-refundable. Submissions without a jury fee will be considered incomplete.

Notifications will be made by 11/25. Please be patient!  Follow us on FB for updates.

2D work: All art must be presented to exhibit in a frame and wired on the back. (Wire must be wide enough to hang on a 3" hanging structure. If you have a mixed media piece or painting that is designed to exhibit without a frame, it will need to be professionally finished on all sides.

If any accepted pieces are dramatically different in person from the submitted image, are in poor condition or are not framed properly, they may be removed from the exhibition without a refund.
